When feeding dairy cows at Sötåsen, milk yield decreased for cows fed press cake instead of silage. Trials with feeding press juice to growing pigs and sows have been conducted at Sötåsen Agricultural College, Töreboda. The press juice constituted 10 and 15 per cent of the feed’s crude protein content, respectively. There were no significant differences in production results, but the pigs that were fed press juice were significantly dirtier. One-year-old replacement heifers at Sötåsen that were fed press cake instead of silage grew just as well, but since they were fed more concentrated feed in this trial, the press cake must be cheap for it to be economically viable.
